Dear Colleagues,

First off, I would like to thank the 2016 Executive Board and the committee volunteers for their service and contributions to making 2016 a very successful year. I also want to thank all of you for participating in the election of your 2017 Chapter Officers. I am extremely grateful that I have been selected to serve you, the members of ASIS Providence, and am excited about the potential for this coming year.

I would also like to recognize and thank my fellow, incoming Chapter Officers for volunteering their time and experience; Vice Chair Heidi Tripp, Treasurer Vic Mason and Secretary Jim Foley. They all have shown incredible enthusiasm in making this a memorable year.

ASIS International has found that the resources its members most value are information, education, connections, and leadership that come with being a member of such an esteemed organization. In order to aide in providing those resources, the Providence Chapter’s goals for 2017 will be to provide dynamic speakers and educational sessions, exciting new networking events, and increased community volunteerism.  The Golf Committee has already begun planning for this year’s event and we are pleased to share that we have confirmed the date of May 19th at Triggs Memorial Golf Course in Providence, RI.

Coming off of the success of 2016 where we saw membership growth reach 17%, another key goal for the Chapter is to continue to grow our network of professionals.  We are a small community and can all benefit from the vast experience and expertise that you can provide. With that said, I encourage all of you to become more involved; attend a meeting, chair a committee, refer a speaker, recruit a colleague.  We are all responsible for the success of our Chapter.

I am very much looking forward to 2017 and providing you with the resources that you so value. If you have any suggestions for the Chapter or questions about the Chapter, please feel free to reach out to me or any of the Board members.
