A MESSAGE FROM OUR 2009 CHAPTER CHAIRMAN - MICHAEL BRUGNOLI

Chairman’s Message:

2009, what a year! We welcomed a new American president and navigated the worst recession since the time of the dust bowl. We witnessed the collapse of companies and saw giant corporations reduced to a shell of their former greatness. We experienced fear and anxiety never known to a generation of individuals.

Let us hope that 2010 and beyond brings prosperity and peace. Part of the process will be the ability of neighbors and organizations to stay united in purpose and fraternity. Recent articles and studies have indicated that events across the world have caused a feeling of camaraderie and sense of helping others.
Haiti and Chile are examples of the generosity that abounds in the face of adversity.

ASIS is an organization that must remain vibrant and an integral part of the community. Our philanthropic efforts involve donations to victims and assistance to individuals in the pursuit of a career in the public safety profession. Training in these fields has become intense, elaborate and expensive. While our awards, in the name of Anthony J. Mancuso are seemingly meager, they offer assistance just the same. We need help in raising revenue to continue providing this assistance to worthy and appreciative candidates.

The annual golf outing will take place on May 14, 2010 at Laurel Lane golf club in Kingston RI. This event in its third year has become a wonderful tournament, where friends and supporters gather to remember Tony, and celebrate his memory. In the process, we will raise a little money for a noble cause. Lots of people will be asking for donations this year and it will be difficult to choose. Choosing to help educate someone is the best investment that can be made. These are the people that will be the caretakers of public trust and the safety or our children and grandchildren.

Please join us in making this year the best yet.
